Privacy Policy
TL;DR — Your entries live in your browser, on your device. We run no analytics, no ads, no trackers. If you choose to sign in with Google, your data is backed up to your own private space in our database so you can restore it on another device — and you can delete it, completely, any time.
1. Who we are
NAMAH is a mental-wellness self-help application and a product of NAIQ.in ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@naiq.in.
2. What we collect — and what we deliberately don't
Mood check-ins, screener answers and scores (PHQ-9/GAD-7), journal entries, breathing minutes and your safety plan are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not transmitted to NAMAH, NAIQ, or anyone else. The only network requests the app makes are for two font files from Google Fonts and one call to our visitor counter, which counts each unique visitor once: it stores only a salted one-way hash derived from your IP address — the raw IP address is never stored, and no entry content or identifiers are attached.
- We receive your Google account's basic profile: name, email address and user ID, provided by Firebase Authentication.
- Your NAMAH data (the same data described above) is stored in a private per-user record in our database (Google Cloud Firestore), readable and writable only by your authenticated account, so you can restore it on other devices.
- We do not read, mine, analyse, or share the contents of your entries. No human at NAIQ looks at them.
- No third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data with third parties.
- No profiling for advertising. NAMAH shows no ads.
- No collection of your phone number, contacts, location, or device sensors.
3. Legal basis and purpose
We process the data above solely to provide NAMAH's features: local functioning of the app, and — with your consent, expressed by signing in — cloud backup and multi-device restore. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), our basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by signing out and deleting your data.
4. Sensitive data — a special note
Mental-health entries are deeply personal. That is why NAMAH is local-first, why backup is opt-in, why there are no trackers, and why deletion is immediate and real. Please still exercise care on shared or public computers: local storage is readable by anyone using the same browser profile.
5. Your rights and controls
- Export: one tap in the Vault downloads every byte of your data as readable JSON.
- Delete (local): "Delete all my data" in the Vault erases local storage instantly and permanently.
- Delete (cloud): if you are signed in, the same action also deletes your cloud backup record. You can also email us to request erasure.
- Access / correction / grievance: write to hello@naiq.in. We aim to respond within 7 days.
6. Security
Cloud data is protected by Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules that restrict each record to its owner, and is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by Google Cloud. No system is perfectly secure; we minimise risk primarily by collecting as little as possible.
7. Data retention
Local data stays until you delete it or clear your browser storage. Cloud backups stay until you delete them or request erasure. If NAMAH ever shuts down, cloud data will be deleted after 90 days' notice on this site.
8. Children
NAMAH is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us for immediate deletion.
9. Third-party services
We use Google Fonts (font delivery), Firebase Authentication (sign-in) and Google Cloud Firestore (opt-in backup), and Cloudflare (site hosting and an anonymous aggregate visit counter). Each processes limited technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver their service, under their own privacy policies.
10. Changes
We will post any changes here with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
