If you are in crisis right now
If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, do not rely on this app. Call now — these lines are free, confidential and open 24×7 across India:
1. NAMAH is a self-help tool, not healthcare
NAMAH provides self-help and wellness features: mood logging, journaling, breathing and grounding exercises, psychoeducation, and structured reflection. It is not a medical device, not psychotherapy, not counselling, and not a substitute for care from a qualified doctor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. Nothing in NAMAH constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. Screeners are indicators, not diagnoses
The PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaires in NAMAH are widely used, clinically validated screening instruments (© Pfizer Inc., made freely available for use). A score — high or low — is not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional who evaluates you personally can diagnose a condition. Please share your scores with a doctor or counsellor rather than interpreting them alone.
3. The Companion is scripted, not a person
"Sahaay" is a structured, pre-written reflection guide. It is not a human, not a therapist, and not artificial general intelligence. It cannot understand your situation the way a person can, and it is intentionally designed to route you toward real humans — helplines and professionals — whenever things are heavy.
4. Crisis features have limits
NAMAH's safety prompts (keyword detection, helpline routing, follow-up nudges) are best-effort software features. They can miss things, and they can trigger when nothing is wrong. They do not monitor you, cannot contact anyone on your behalf, and must never be relied upon in an emergency. In an emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital.
5. No professional relationship
Using NAMAH does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or any other professional-care relationship between you and NAIQ. Helplines listed in the app are operated by independent government and non-profit organisations; we verify their numbers periodically but do not operate them and cannot guarantee their availability.
6. Your responsibility
- Do not stop, start, or change any medication or treatment based on anything in NAMAH — always consult your prescriber.
- Seek professional help if distress persists, worsens, or interferes with daily life.
- NAMAH supplements professional care; it never replaces it.
7. Limitation of liability
NAMAH is provided "as is", free of charge during the launch period, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NAIQ and its creators are not liable for any loss or harm arising from the use of, or inability to use, NAMAH. This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Governing law
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of India. NAMAH is a product of NAIQ.in. Questions: hello@naiq.in.
